Dietetics - GI Supervision for Dietitians

GI supervision for dietitians to discuss complex cases or ask questions about clinical management of GI disorders.

Hi, I’m Jill!

I’m a Registered Dietitian, a mom of three (including 8-year-old twins and a 2-year-old), and someone who understands exactly how heavy the mental load of feeding a family can feel.

I am right there in the trenches with you. I know it isn’t just about getting dinner on the table—it’s that constant loop of questions running through your mind: Is he eating enough? Is this stomach ache serious? Why am I so exhausted? Am I doing this right? With a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Science from the University of Alberta and registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta, I bring a wealth of expertise to my work.

I’ve been practising as a Registered Dietitian since 2008, but my goal isn’t just to hand you a meal plan. My goal is to teach you sustainable skills so you feel confident handling this long-term—and to carry some of that worry for you right now. I combine my clinical experience with the reality of a busy household to help you stop the late-night Google searches and trust that you have a plan that fits your actual, real life.

Here is how we can find your balance:

Easing the Worry Around Your Child (Pediatrics): When your child struggles with food or digestion, it is stressful for the whole family. I help parents move from anxiety to confidence. - For the “Picky” Eaters: Whether it’s severe food refusal (ARFID) or just typical toddler pushback, I help you navigate it without turning the dinner table into a battleground. - For the Tummy Troubles: If you are worried about your child’s pain, reflux, constipation, or allergies (like CMPA or FPIES), I help you navigate the clinical picture and turn it into a practical plan, so you don’t have to guess. We will find a way to feed them safely without you feeling like a short-order cook.

Supporting Your Own Health (Adults, Men’s & Women’s Health):

  • Parents are great at taking care of everyone else, but often last on their own list. Whether you are a dad dealing with gut issues or a mom navigating postpartum, I help you handle your shifting health needs.
  • Digestive Wellness: Living with both Ulcerative Colitis and IBS, I truly understand the frustration of a sensitive and changing gut. I know what it’s like to navigate the unpredictability of symptoms like bloating and pain while trying to live a normal life. I help you manage your digestion with empathy, helping you feel safe in your body again.
  • Burnout & Depletion: If you feel constantly drained, we focus on replenishing you. For women, we address Maternal Depletion and hormonal shifts. For men and women alike, we look at realistic ways to fuel your body so you have the stamina for the day, without rigid dieting.
  • The Mid-Years & Hormones: If you feel like the things that used to work for you just aren’t working anymore, that is normal. I help you find a nutritional rhythm that supports your changing physiology (including perimenopause and mid-life metabolic shifts) with compassion.

Hi there, I’m Marlee! I’m Ignite’s Dietitian Team Lead.

I studied at St. Francis Xavier University and have a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition with a specialization in dietetics. I have been practicing since 2015. I am registered with the College of Dietitians of Alberta, the College of Dietitians of British Columbia, and the College of Dietitians of Ontario.

I help people who feel like they’ve lost their way when it comes to food. My role in this can look different depending on the person – sometimes I’m helping my clients to regain a sense of control around food and mindful eating. For others, I help them to find their way back to enjoying food after being overly restrictive and following food rules that aren’t serving them. Ultimately, I want my clients to feel like they can experience the most food freedom possible, while also considering their health story, lifestyle, symptoms, and budget.

My passion as a dietitian is working with patients who have unique and complex health concerns, as this can often lead to food relationship struggles. When something feels SO BIG, it can feel impossible to manage, but that’s why I love my job so much – it’s exciting to see my patients thrive with small steps toward their big goals. By breaking down your plan into actionable steps, it will feel so much less daunting and so much more attainable.

I specialize in:

  • IBS & SIBO
  • Complex functional gut disorders - trust me, I’ve seen it ALL
  • Digestive disorders (EoE, celiac, GERD, microscopic colitis, IBD, and more!)
  • Unusual allergies and intolerances like histamine intolerance and food chemical intolerances
  • Intuitive eating & food relationship
  • Fatty liver disease & NASH
  • PCOS and insulin resistance – I’ve even written a PCOS cookbook!
  • Nutrition for disease prevention and management
  • Meal prep and planning (the ‘practical stuff’)
  • Oncology and cancer survivorship

I’m a realist and I live by the philosophy that food should be simple, nutritious, and easy to prepare. Let’s connect and start your journey towards a healthy, sustainable life!

I’m a registered dietitian passionate about women’s health, especially PCOS, gut health, and creating a healthy relationship with food. I help adults feel energized, confident, and empowered by building realistic, sustainable nutrition habits that work in the context of their real lives.

This work is deeply personal to me, shaped by my own journey of overcoming gut health struggles, chronic fatigue, and an unhealthy relationship with food. After experiencing trauma as a child, food and my body became a way to cope and gain control during an uncertain time. Through years of learning, I rebuilt my relationship with food. I was eventually able to compete in a weight-class sport, making weight without sacrificing performance, mental health, or falling back into restrictive patterns.

My approach is flexible and collaborative; we’ll focus on strategies that adapt to you, not the other way around. Together, we’ll quiet the diet noise, move away from rigid food rules, and find an eating style that supports both your physical health and your enjoyment of food. I believe nutrition should free up mental space, not take it over.

I have a degree in Nutrition & Food Science from University of Alberta, with a minor in physical activity. When I’m not working with clients, you can find me training in Muay Thai, hanging out with my husband and dogs, or on the hunt for the perfect latte. I’m registered with the College of Dietitians of Alberta and the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.

Hi there! I’m Jen Rawson (she/her), and I’m both a Registered Dietitian and Registered Provisional Psychologist.

My combined qualifications and extensive experience working as a dietitian for over 10 years provide me a unique perspective on the intricate relationship between mental health and nutrition, promoting a holistic approach to overall wellness. Through working with numerous clients, I’ve come to understand that our well-being is about much more than just the food we eat.

I am deeply committed to a non-diet approach that embraces and welcomes people of all body types and identities. I firmly believe that health is not defined by a specific body size and strive to help clients redefine what health means to them.

My areas of expertise include: - disordered eating - body image concerns - digestive disorders - navigating life transitions with a particular interest in the complex hormonal, health, and mental challenges of perimenopause and menopause.

It’s important to note that while I am skilled in both psychology and nutrition, I only provide dietitian services at Ignite Nutrition.

I am excited about the opportunity to join you on your journey towards food and body freedom, empowering you to redefine health on your own terms and thrive in your overall well-being. Let’s work together to create positive and lasting changes in your life!

Hey there, I’m Caroline!  Nutrition has been a long-held value for me, though, as a young girl, I took healthy eating too far. I refused fast food and controlled food intake too rigidly, only to overeat on socially acceptable occasions where an abundance of food was present. With education, practice, and patience, I’ve found a balance between healthy eating and enjoyment; a unique perspective on food that I love sharing with others.   I help people regain control over food so they can eat without guilt and ditch diets for good. I practice with body neutrality, follow intuitive eating principles and am skilled at guiding people through healthy weight management and health optimization.

I earned my degree in Dietetics from Mount Saint Vincent University in my home province, Nova Scotia. I have been practising dietetics since 2017 and am registered in BC and Alberta.     In addition to my nutrition experience, I have taught English abroad for 3 years. Being able to step into another career path has shown me the challenges of keeping nutrition a priority. I can empathize more with busy people trying to find a place for nutrition in their lives amongst all the other competing priorities.

My day always starts with a coffee and finishes with a chapter from a book. I have an insatiable travel bug and curiosity for the world. Joyful movement is a staple in my life and comes in many forms (weightlifting, yoga, walking, tennis, and more).  I love to cook, bake and of course, eat.

My Adult Specialties:

  • Building a healthy relationship with food
  • Disordered eating
  • Healthy, sustainable weight management
  • Women’s health

Hi! I’m Ashley!

I work with babies, children, teens, and adults. I help people make meaningful and sustainable changes towards their health goals, with a plan that fits.

In my experience, individuals start working with a dietitian and feel stress around big changes, an overhaul to their food choices, or a super restrictive diet… thats not me! I want to hear your story, support you with every step along the way, and remove the uncertainty around food and nutrition. Then we can build on what is working and troubleshoot what isn’t. I want you to feel confident to reach your own personalized nutrition and health goals.

The same goes for my pediatric patients, I understand that food and nutrition can have even more pressure and concern for you as a caregiver. My approach is to not only provide nutrition care but compassion to the individuals I am working with, helping you to feel confident to reach your little one’s nutrition and health needs.

For Pediatrics, I specialize in:

  • Constipation & Encopresis
  • Digestive Disorders like IBS, IBD, EoE, and GERD/Reflux
  • Cow’s Milk Protein Allergy & Milk Soy Protein Intolerance (MSPI)
  • Feeding families
  • Fuelling kids & teens for sport
  • Transition to solids
  • Picky eating

For Adults, I specialize in:

  • IBS & SIBO
  • Digestive disorders like Microscopic Colitis, IBD, Diverticulitis, Bile Acid Diarrhea, Gastroparesis, and EoE
  • Constipation & Diarrhea
  • GERD / Reflux / Heartburn
  • Celiac Disease & Non-Celiac Wheat Sensitivity
  • Chronic disease and general health management
  • Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) and other liver diseases
  • PCOS and Women’s Health

I am passionate about nutrition and its role in helping you live a happy healthy life. I am a firm believer that all food fits and food should never be confusing or associated with guilt. I want to work together to help you navigate through all of the nutrition information (and misinformation) to remove the stress out of food and nutrition.

Let’s work together to help you feel empowered with a plan that fits YOU. I look forward to connecting with you!
